Plan of action for Youth Development

  1. Engage teenagers in conversation
    Find out their interests
    Invite them to discuss issues of interest to them
  2. Establish a Youth Centre:
    • A place where teenagers can come in to play, learn and discuss local, national and global issues
    • Receive career counselling, guidance and support
    • Receive help with their educational needs – subject specific and whole school issues in a friendly environment
    • Discuss social and community, religious and moral issues
    • Learn skills relevant to their educational, industrial and economic development
    • Learn hand crafts skills eg. Art forms – calligraphy, painting, knitting, carving etc.
    • Develop social skills – open mindedness, group dynamics, teamwork, cooperation, consideration and competition
  3. Bring in various professionals to give career talks on the nature, requirements for entry and successful practice.
  4. Arrange observational visits to work places and job experience placements for young people.
  5. Learn about relationships – how to develop healthy relationships in life
  6. Learn about godly balance on health, fitness and lifestyles issues.
    Invite keen professionals to lead discussion and take group sessions
  7. Environmental awareness and community action projects - clean ups

  8. Development of analytical and critical skills
