Living Springs Ministries is based on the word of Jesus Christ (a Jew) to the Samaritan (Gentile) woman in their conversation at the well recorded in John 4: 13-14
Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
This conversation of Jesus took place against all the established barriers between Jews and Gentiles; spiritual leaders (rabbi) are not allowed to speak to women in public; a strongly classed society where women were not recognised, to demonstrate the important message that every individual irrespective of their race, ethnicity, gender, creed or background matters immensely to God!
Since the time these powerful statements were written, our world has seen tremendous changes including wars, the rise and fall of many empires, formation of treaties and accords, breakdown of barriers of oppression, suppression and segregation against particular races, gender or sections of societies and technological advancements in many areas of human endeavour. The standard of living conditions in many parts of the world have largely improved, and comfortable and affluent lifestyles are enjoyed by many today.
However, there are still great spiritual, moral, emotional and physical needs in many lives all over the world. Also, despite all the advancements, many of us find it very difficult to handle the complex and interacting everyday relationships and our experiences are littered with many broken relationships.
There is an increasing sense of emptiness and loneliness in individual lives, a lack of genuine social care and communal relationships, which is the heart of humanity. There seems to be missing in our lives a vital part which keep everything together and makes life worth living.
